I put the call out
for help identifying my mystery photo on Friday night and Saturday I am very pleased to be able to
say that my request for help was answered by renowned Regimental Books Australia.

They say the uniform is correct to be militia between 1920-1940 and the
badge shape is similar to the 26th Battalion badge (picture isn't clear
enough to be 100% sure), so taking into account that we know George was
in the 26th and it was in his possession it looks likely that this is
of the 26th Battalion from 1930 onwards to 1936 when he was discharged.
I just wish I
knew which one is him! The only picture I have of him is from the
Queenslander when he went off to Gallipoli and that isn't detailed
enough to guess.
