Unfortunately she glued many of them in the album. I managed to carefully get them out (after photographing each postcard's position in the album)and now have them in acid free photo sleeves. Some of them have green paper from the album stuck to the back of the cards - covering the many interesting messages from my great grandmother's relatives. I hope to find a careful way of removing the paper while preserving the cards and their messages. A future task. <br />Thanks Helen for sharing this information about postcards collections.A O'Brienhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07420277609206963374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-388864214259507833.post-66932078506184398862011-09-05T17:02:13.050+10:002011-09-05T17:02:13.050+10:00You are so lucky to have this collection. I only have a couple of *old* ones, but Mum kept every postcard that I sent home when I was travelling interstate and overseas during the late 1970s and 1980s. They are a good substitute for the travel diary that I didn't always write! I also have many postcards that family and friends sent to me. At the moment they are stored in special boxes and arranged by country. Some day soon I want to scan them (front and back).Judy Websterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02331380147873608965noreply@blogger.com
